Visit the Regional Park’s Arataki Centre situated only 10 minutes drive from Rangiwai Lodge where you will be captivated by panoramic views of Auckland’s twin harbours and also by the spectacular contemporary carvings of the Te Kawerau a Maki – the Maori ancestral tribal people of the Waitakere region. The Arataki Centre is a vital first experience and introduction to the ecology, flora and fauna, the countless bush walks and hiking treks through the incredibly diverse landscapes of the Waitakere region.
