Walking Tracks The area, a veritable natural paradise, abounds in over 100 marked walks, treks and hiking trails suitable for all ages and fitness levels. These vary from the popular Fairy Falls track where a swim in a rock pool can refresh on a warm day to spectacular coastal cliff or beach tracks alongside pounding surf. Or for the more adventurous other courses include the Waitakere Golf Course carved out of the native bush or the majestic links course at Muriwai Beach.     Wineries A visit to the Waitakere region would not be complete without a sampling of the region’s wines.
